The Massage Ball Series was created to fill a gap in the product line for self myofascial release at a mass appealing price point.

We used closed cell PU foam with polyurethane coating to achieve the ideal durometer and grip to relieve muscle tension and improve circulation.

Using the SKLZ brand colors as the base,
each product was speckled for visual interest and to disguise dirt and debris after continued use.

Spring 2012

In 2012, Bodum introduced a double walled french press with continuous brewing. This release highlighted the opportunity to address over brewing.

Pureza is an internal system that allows the user to seal off their grounds when brewing is complete.

This project was created for a housewares competition.

The Targeted Massage Bar, a continuation of the SKLZ Massage Bar family, shares the handles and center rod with the existing Travel Massage Bar.

To achieve a targeted deep tissue massage, I designed 8 independently spinning wheels at a gradual taper.

Transparent yellow PC enable a smooth rotation of each wheel. Black TPU is co-molded to the PC to hook into the target area.

Using overload and release training methods, the Acceleration Trainer helps athletes at all levels build first step quickness and top-end speed.

The complexity of proper acceleration mechanics required ample user testing with athletes, coaches and trainers.

There were existing patents from competitors that made this solution exceptionally difficult.

The product includes a padded belt with 270° ring travel for multi-directional drills. The leash is formatted with static and elastic elements to provide the perfect tension without whipping the athlete on release.

The Weighted Vest Pro optimizes your training sessions with equal weight distribution, flexible water-proof weights, and the ability to convert into a sandbag.

The Weighted Vest Pro is a redesign of an existing product in the SKLZ performance line. The main objective was to address quality and durability issues caused by construction and material.

The redesign corrected all performance issues, added a strap extension, sandbag features, and updated branding. While the previous vest is indistinguishable, the new vest with grey mesh and yellow bar tack stands out on social media.

The SpeedSac 2.0 is a variable weighted sled
built for speed drills. With a proprietary rubber base, it is safe to use on grass, turf, rubber and hardwood surface without causing damage.

Due to a previous licensing agreement and patent, redesign of this product was challenging and came with interpersonal sensitives.

The final result addressed long standing quality issues, reduce our manufacturing costs, and maintained our previous agreements and patent.

The Star-Kick, a legacy SKLZ product, maintained its original pattern for years. When we created the Star-Kick Touch Trainer in 2018, there was opportunity to explore a new pattern.

Soccer trend research and user surveys were used to finalize the colors of the new Star-Kicks.

The pattern on the Touch Trainer was created to emphasize proper ball rotation - a training feature of the product.

2017-2020

The Sportbrella product line required seasonal color and pattern updates for a variety of mass/retail channels.

Collaborating with our factories, managing timelines and hitting cost and margin targets was crucial.

During my time working on Sportbrella, I created more than 200 colorways and patterns.
Patterns were almost always limited to 2 colors applied by a roller. Blue was always the #1 seller, followed by red.
